Apprehensive about Going to a Dentist?
Then you are not alone. The American Dental Association estimates
that approximately 40% to 50% of the population avoids
going to the dentist for this reason. Fear is not a factor of age,
sex, economics or race. If you have anxieties about going to a
dentist, or have sensitive teeth, hate needles, have a bad
gag reflex or limited time to go to the dentist, Sedation/Sleep
Dentistry may be right for you. Sedation/Sleep Dentistry places
you in a cozy state of total relaxation. You will have little or no
memory of the experience and no discomfort at all. We won't
start your treatment until you are completely comfortable. Feel
free to ask for sedation to eliminate your anxieties about
dental care. |

How long will it take?
By taking a prescribed
sedative an hour before
your appointment you will
already be relaxed when
you arrive at our office.
You must be accompanied
to and from the
appointment by a friend or loved one. Depending on your individual
needs, you will be relaxed and sedated for a short or
long visit. This may allow treatment normally requiring six or
eight visits to be accomplished in as little as one. |

Is it safe?
Sedation/Sleep Dentistry is a very safe
and effective way to provide complex
dental care with the greatest degree of
comfort to adult patients who have anxieties
and fears about their dental care.
Will I be unconscious?
No, you will be in a state of light conscious
sedation. You will be responsive
to verbal directions.
Will I be monitored?
Yes, one of our team is always with you,
and your vital signs are monitored during
the entire visit. |
